2 final reports in relation to the Central Access Scheme in Kilkenny have concluded that the Vicar Street houses in its path are not medieval.
The houses at 21 and 22 Vicar Street are due to be dismantled to make way for the Central Access Scheme which was approved by An Bord Pleanala in 2011.
Today Kilkenny local authorities today published two reports into the buildings that were commissioned following concerns that they contained a late medieval gable, or at least the remnants of one.
In a statement it says these reports together with previous reports show conclusively that the houses at Vicar Street are not medieval.
