Three Gardaí were injured during a high-speed chase through Kilkenny, Wexford and Carlow yesterday evening.
Their injuries are not serious though.
They were initially responding to reports of an incident in the Bennettsbridge area.
A jeep that was stolen in Kilkenny city last Thursday wouldn’t stop and was chased to New Ross where it rammed two squad cars and as well as damaging two parked cars on the street.
They then took off again through the back roads before being tracked down in Rathanna in Carlow.
Another Garda car was rammed at this point but Two men in their early 20s were arrested – one had to be chased down after he ran off over the fields.
One man has been charged and appeared in Kilkenny District court – he’s been remanded on bail to appear again on the 10th of January.
One man is still being questioned in Thomastown Garda Station.
The Gardai also want to thank locals who responded to a community text alert and helped track down the stolen jeep.
