Kilkenny has been shortlisted in three categories for the IMRO Live music awards.
The ceremony takes place on Tuesday the 21st February at the IMRO HQ in Dublin.
Set Theatre and the Watergate Theatre have both been shortlisted in the “rest of leinster” category for Live music venue of the year 2016.
Its a first nomination for the Watergate while Set Theatre have been there before, picking up the overall prize last year.
The National Opera House in Wexford is also in their category.
The Kilkenny Trad Fest has been listed in the Small Music Festival of the year. It will go up against the likes of the Doolin Folk Festival and the Willie Clancy Summer School.
More than 11,500 IMRO members considered hundreds of venues across the country for the shortlist.
Venues were judged on their commitment to great live music venue – atmosphere, sound and lighting, staging, diversity of programming and importantly, the staff and management of each venue.
