Carlow and Kilkenny are unfortunately bucking the national trend when it comes to road fatalities.
Nationally, so far this year, there have been 10 fewer deaths when compared with last year.
However, in Carlow there have been two fatalities in the first 6 months of 2017 – up from zero last year.
While, in Kilkenny it’s the same as last year, at three deaths.
Speaking to KCLR News, Local Traffic Inspector Anthony Farrell says it’s very disappointing.
He said despite their efforts to make the roads safer, some drivers are still not getting the message.
