The Cat Laughs Comedy festival kicks off this bank holiday weekend in Kilkenny..

Around 30,000 visitors are expected to visit Kilkenny this weekend for one of the country’s biggest comedy festivals.

The first Cat Laughs Festival was held back in 1995 and now boasts a packed programme of national and international comedians.

This year sees a new director at the helm, Matt Smyth, who told KCLR they were incredibly lucky with the 66 comedians they have this year.
