Aldi gets the go-ahead to set up shop in Graiguenamanagh

A decision was published today which gives the retailer the thumbs up to proceed with their plans.

It’s been a bit of a wait but today plans by Aldi to open a store in Graiguenamanagh have been given the green light.

The original permission granted by Kilkenny county council was appealed to An Bord Pleanála who gave it their consideration in recent months.

A decision was published today which gives the retailer the thumbs up to proceed with their plans.

Local Councillor Peter Cleere says he expects it will benefit the whole area including other businesses there.

It’s likely to be next year before work starts on the project.
