An early bronze age food vessel found in Rathvilly has been loaned for display at Carlow museum.
The Ballybit Vessel was uncovered during clearance works at Lisnavagh back in 1862.
It has since crossed the Atlantic twice before being presented to a National Museum of Ireland in 1928.
Isabella Mulhall of the Irish Antiquities Division of the National Museum is a native of Tullow.
She says its great to see the 4,000 year old vessel return to Carlow.
