Carlow needs jobs just as badly as anywhere else.
That’s according to Councillor Fintan Phelan who was reacting to a recent independent report that claimed the south east in general was being left behind in terms of IDA investment.
He’s calling on the area’s Regional Development Manager to appear before the council and explain exactly why this is happening.
Brendan McDonald told KCLR Live yesterday that they are always trying to attract new business to the region saying 4 companies have visited Carlow recently – and another is due today.
However, speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Phelan says he feels like Carlow is getting second billing to the likes of Kilkenny and Waterford who feature strongly on their website.
