Carlow County Council will be hoping for a sizeable dig-out in today’s budget.
As it stands the shortfall in property tax and rates have left the local authority facing over a million euro of a deficit in their own budget for 2017.
Senior members in the Council met with the Minister with responsibility for local government, Simon Coveney a number of weeks ago to talk about how this deficit could be avoided.
Speaking to KCLR News, Carlow’s Director of Services, Séamus O’Connor said they’re holding out hope that they may be thrown a bone in this afternoon’s budget.
