Carlow’s champion ploughman, Éamonn Tracey, is preparing for the long trip to Kenya this evening.
The 2017 World Championships are being held in the African country for the first time ever and the Garryhill man will be there representing Ireland.
This is the first of two world ploughing championships he’ll be competing in in the space of about 9 months as he’s also qualified for the 2018 event in Germany next Summer.
The National Ploughing Association are hosting a send-off afternoon in the Seven Oaks Hotel in Carlow today.
