The Central Access Scheme in Kilkenny is now on track to be completed before the end of next year.
Yesterday Kilkenny Council-members were given an update on the controversial scheme which has seen both protests and court cases since work started last year.
However it now appears that early estimates of just how much these delays would cost the council were short by around 600 thousand euro.
Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor David Fitzgerald says the protests and court cases have brought the project closer to 3 million euro over budget.
