Council assures locals that Inistioge water is safe ahead of 5 million euro upgrade

There is NO arsenic in the drinking water for Inistioge.

That’s according to Senior Engineer at Kilkenny County Council Billy Mernagh.

He says there have been a small number of low level postive test results for the element over the years but these have been rare and haven’t occured in some time.

Mr Mernagh says site investigation works are currently underway with a view to bringing a brand new 5 million euro supply from Thomastown to the area.

However, The Engineer is adament that the water is Inistioge is safe:
