Protesters are expected to gather at County Hall again today as the council meets for a special meeting on the Central Access Scheme.
A motion to suspend works on the new bridge will be debated by the members and access to the public gallery is being limited to 20 people – 10 from either side of the debate.
The decision was taken in a bid to avoid a repeat of what happened at the last meeting to discuss CAS.
It remains to be seen whether the motion will be voted through – Director of Services with Kilkenny county council John McCormack says they’ve never dealt with something like this before.
