A Bagenalstown councillor has welcomed news that a site he says is “a thorn in the side of locals” is to be cleaned up.
The site, which is beside the Family Resource Centre in Bagenalstown cannot be built on because of the fact that there is a ringfort there which is protected by law.
Councillor Arthur McDonald says he’s had numerous complaints from those living in the area because it’s become a target for illegal dumping, which they say has attracted rats.
Speaking to KCLR News, he says the go-ahead has been given for something to be done about tidying it and maintaining it.
