The father of a Leighlinbridge man who died in the River Barrow at the weekend says he doesn’t want anyone else to lose their lives over ‘Neknominations’.
The body of 19 year old Jonny Byrne was recovered at Milford yesterday morning – he had gone into the water on Saturday evening after taking part in the challenge.
His family and friends are now pleading for an end to the craze.
Jonny’s brother Patrick had jumped in after him to try and save him and his Dad Joe Byrne told KCLR that he nearly lost both of them.
Joe told ‘The Sue Nunn Show’ this morning it was a ‘nightmare’ for the family who are ‘completely devastated’ saying ‘we don’t know how we’ll carry on’.
