Over €1,000,000 in funding will be coming to Kilkenny centres and organisations.
Carlow has also been included in the funding that’s coming from the Arts Council.
Kilkenny is by far getting the lion’s share of the money that will be spent locally by the Arts Council.
Over €1,070,000 has been allocated to a number of centres and organisations around the county including the Butler Gallery at €226,000 and Barnstorm Theatre at €244,600.
Kilkenny Arts Festival is one of the biggest benefiters at €405,000.
Meanwhile, Carlow organisations have also been included in the funding announcement with just under €200,000 heading their way.
It’s to go to the VISUAL Theatre and Éigse Carlow Arts Festival.
The CEO of Visual Ann Mulrooney recently told KCLR that they were to get €95,000 from the Arts council which would leave over €100,000 for Éigse.
Visual’s Arts council funding is up 21% on last year but the theatre will still struggle to replace a 7% cut in local authority funding,.
