The exhibition opening times are as follows: Mon – Wed 10am-6pm, Thur – Fri 10am-9pm, Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 12am-5pm.
The exhibition will take place in the unit beside Quigley’s, located in the Workhouse Square event space.
It will be officially launched by The Irish Photographic Federation’s newly elected President Dominic Reddin on Friday the 11th of August at 7.00pm. Light refreshments will be served and the annual Photographer Of The Year competition [POTY] award ceremony will also take place.
This years exhibition will see 57 members of all ages and levels of ability participating. The exhibition reflects the hard work and dedication of the society members and we are delighted that many of the new members who have joined this year are featuring for the first time in our annual Exhibition. The visitor will see a wide diversity of photography from flora to fauna, local landmarks in all seasons, travel, landscapes, seascapes and much more including both traditional and newer digital art forms.
During 2016 and 2017 no less than nine of the members received distinctions from the Irish Photographic Federation. Those being; Mary A. Hickey LIPF, Bernadette Marnell LIPF, Pauline O’Brien LIPF LRPS, Eugene Canning LIPF, Andy Magan LIPF, Dan Ryan LIPF, Patrick Quinn LIPF, Ned Mahon AIPF and Mark Desmond AIPF. These distinction panels will be on display on the top floor of the exhibition space.
Also on display will be the winning prints from competitions during 2016 & 2017 seasons. The Exhibition is intended to appeal to a wide audience, members of the public, schools and organisations, as well as tourists and people with an interest in the arts, culture and especially photography.
Kilkenny Photographic Society – KPS has a permanent exhibition of our members work on display at St Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny. Members are delighted to announce that during the AKA Fringe 003 – 2017 which takes place from the 3rd to 20th August 2017 Kilkenny Photographic Society will display new work from members for this event.
The 2017 Hospital Exhibition during the Kilkenny Alternative Arts Fringe has been kindly sponsored by Anne Conroy a good friend to Kilkenny Photographic Society and sister of KPS member Derville Conroy. All 14 images [mounted on 20”x16”mounts] on display are for sale and all monies received will be donated to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny Art fund for future purchase of Art for display throughout the Hospital.
