A local councillor is criticising what he’s called the completely unviable plan to tackle flooding in one area of Kilkenny.
It comes as the OPW’s flood risk management plans for the county go on display today in the Newpark Hotel from 2 to 7 o’clock.
They include plans for the areas that have been worst affected by flooding over the past few years including Inistioge, Thomastown, Graiguenamangh and Freshford.
However, Inistioge Councillor Michael Doyle says that while other areas seem to have been given a number of options to choose from, Inistioge has just one – to build a 1.7 metre wall.
Speaking to KCLR News this morning, Councillor Doyle says it’s just not a viable option in his opinion.
