Gardaí are on the hunt for a number of men after a delivery man was assaulted and his car hijacked in Carlow.
It happened in the Pollerton Road / St Mary’s Park area of the town at 2.15am this morning.
The victim was making a delivery when he was approached by at least two men who assaulted him and stole his car.
The vehicle – which is a black Masda saloon – was subsequently found crashed a short distance away.
The man received medical treatment but his injuries are understood to have been minor.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone in the Pollerton Road / St Mary’s Park area between 2am and 3 this morning and who may have seen anything to contact them on 059 9136620.
Meanwhile, there were also eight drug seizures in the town last night – including heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis.
Three of the seizures were for sale and supply while five were for possession.
