It was a fairly unsuccessful night for local criminals in Carlow last night!
Gardaí are investigating a number of attempted burglaries and one break-in which all happened between 11pm and 7am this morning.
The first attempted burglary took place in Oakley Park, Graiguecullen at about 3.40 this morning when two males wearing hoodies attempted to break-in the front door of a house.
However they were interrupted by the owners and didn’t manage to get in, despite breaking the locks.
A similar incident happened at Oakley Grove a couple of hours later, at about 6am when two people were again disturbed by the occupants of a house as they tried to get in.
At a house in Fiacc’s Terrace, Graiguecullen, the men didn’t even get that far as the owners noticed them as they approached the front door at about 4.30am.
The two were wearing hoodies and fled on foot.
And in the final case in Carlow last night, burglars did manage to break into a house in The Elms on the Athy Road sometime between 11pm and 7am.
They forced the front door and stole a TV, cash and a small red purse.
