First on the show we had an extract from a piece recorded with Mary Brennan, secretary of An Taisce, Kilkenny on the subject of biodiversity. They’re holding a conference on this issue in the Clubhouse Hotel, details here. The full interview is below.
Philip Sheppard, auctioneer with Sheppard Antiques told us of an upcoming auction featuring a catalogue of items from Gash Gardens, originally a dairy farm paddock in County Laois.
We also heard from Willie Kearns who was publicizing a tug of war competition in Piltown on Sunday 28th. We then heard from Liam Brennan of Gordon Hegarty about a silage demonstration on Friday 26th.
Farm Safety is always a regular topic on the show and we heard this week from Kevin O’Hagan of the Irish Cancer Society about the dangers of skin cancer.
Finally Matt spoke with Paul Nolan of Dawn Meats about the expected acquisition of Dunbia Meats.
Michael Lynch then gave us the weekly Kilkenny Mart Report.
