First tonight on the show we heard an interview recorded with An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD at the unveiling of a plaque to the memory of Caitriona Hayes-O’Brien who founded creche in Muckalee, Co. Kilkenny. He shared his thoughts on current events such as Brexit and his comments on agriculture issues nationally and internationally.
We heard from Joe Healy, President of the IFA and his thoughts on the 1966 NFA campaign, internal organisational issues, the appointment of a new Director General at the IFA and broader issues in farming including Brexit.
Matt spoke recently with farmers who were honoured by Kilkenny IFA for their role in the NFA Farming campaign in the 1960s. We heard the memories of Paddy Purcell, Dick Cody, Jimmy Staunton & Robbie Doherty.
Hugh Mahon a dry stock adviser with Teagasc, Carlow joined us to discuss the prospects for the sheep sector in 2017 and details on the upcoming sheep conference.
