First tonight we heard about the American farming experience. Matt O’Keeffe found himself in the state of Oregon recently and had a long chat with Fred And Jon Justesen who farm cattle and beef in the aptly named Grass Valley.
Next we heard from Richard Halloran, a journalist with the online magazine Agriland and farmer in Tyrone, who gave us a sense of how Northern Irish farmers have held in the face of the recent bad weather, milk prices there and some insights in to the Canadian market.
Matt O’Keeffe is at the Agricultural Science Association annual conference and he gave us a brief report on the proceedings and previewed the ASA research findings due to be published on September, 8th
He had our usual diary feature courtesy of Tullow Mart and George Candler joined us for the weekly Kilkenny Mart Report.
