The ISPCA is pulling out of the dog shelter for Carlow and Kilkenny.
The Paulstown facility deals with about 250 animals on a monthly basis.
The local authorites in both counties put the service out for tender earlier this year and the society decided NOT to put in a bid.
It’s current contract is due to expire on the 31st of December.
ISCPA – Chief Executive Dr Andrew Kelly says the public shouldn’t notice any change.
