There’s good news for one local community who are now a big step closer to finally getting a playground.
Planning permission has now been granted for a new playground and sensory garden on what is at the moment a derelict site on the Rathdowney Road there.
It’s expected to cost in the region of €60,000 to build.
Secretary of the playground committee, Liz Tynan told KCLR News it’s going to be a while yet before the amenity is open.
And in the meantime, they’re going to have to do plenty of fundraising.
