Kilkenny motorist caught speeding during Operation Slowdown

A motorist travelling at 87 kilometres an hour in a 50km/h zone in Co Kilkenny was one of 225 vehicles caught speeding during Operation Slow Down on Friday.

Gardaí say that over 140 thousand vehicles were checked during the 24 hour operation, which began on Friday morning.

The vehicle was caught speeding at Pennefatherslot in Kilkenny during the operation to remind drivers of the dangers of speeding.
