A local songwriter has been chosen to perform in a unique collaboration project called Connecting Musicality.
Kilkenny songwriter Helena Byrne is one of five Irish songwriters selected to write songs for one of five American singers.
The Irish singers will perform songs written by American songwriters in Dublin while the American singers will perform songs written by Irish songwriters in New York.
Both concerts will connect via Skype allowing audiences in both venues to enjoy the two events.
The Connecting Musicality Concert will take place this evening in the Centre For Creative Practices on Pembroke Street in Dublin.
