The group bidding to become the South East European Capital of Culture 2020 has upped their game.
All Ireland winning player and manager Brian Cody has joined the group as a Bid Ambassador for the Three Sisters 2020.
The Three sisters is a partnership of the cities and counties of Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny who are jointly bidding for the 2020 title of European Capital of Culture.
Brian Cody joins the team as one of the greatest managers of Ireland’s national game -he has been in charge of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Team since 1998.
He says one of his favourite places is along The River Nore which he says defines his county in so many ways as it flows right through and is connected to the other counties in the bid.
The European Capital of Culture is designated by the European Union for one calendar year during which the host city or region organizes a series of cultural events with a strong European dimension.
