A Kilkenny TD says the way officials within a government department are treating people is “just not right.”
John McGuinness says he’s received a large number of complaints in relation to inspections and investigations carried out by the Department of Agriculture from local farmers and vets.
They feel they’re being treated like criminals during these inspections, even if they’ve done nothing wrong, and before any proof of wrongdoing has been presented.
Deputy McGuinness has raised the issue in the Dáil and he’s told KCLR News these farmers and vets are being strong-armed by the Department.
He has called on the Agriculture Minister to review regulations and protocols of officials in his department.
John McGuinness says he did get a reply from Agriculture Minister, Michael Creed, but he’s not going to accept it.
