Secondary schools in Kilkenny are amongst the top in the country when it comes to numbers of their students progressing to third level.
The list of this year’s top feeder schools has been revealed.
Coláiste Pobail Osraí is topping the list with a massive 120% progression rate for students who applied to the CAO through them this year.
They had 15 students sitting the leaving cert and three others who also went on to college from there.
Duiske College, Graiguenamanagh, Kilkenny College and Scoil Aireagail of Ballyhale have also surpassed the 100% rate this year.
The two Kilkenny schools with the lowest rates are Coláiste Cois Súire, Mooncoin at 44 and Kilkenny City Vocational School at 16%.
Meanwhile in Carlow, the only school with over 90% of this year’s students going to third level is St Mary’s Knockbeg College at 92% – most of their students have gone on to both UCD and IT Carlow.
The Gaelcholáiste, St Mary’s Academy CBS, Borris Vocational School, St Leo’s and Tullow Community School all saw over 80% of their students going to college.
The school with the lowest rate in Carlow is Carlow Vocational School at 46%.
