Up to 41 lives have been saved in Kilkenny since the local Taxi watch service started.
The initiative which was set up last November involves 15 Taxi drivers that have trained up in the SafeTalk course and are equipped with throw lines.
It’s specifically designed to help the drivers be aware of how to spot people who may have suicidal thoughts or need help with depression.
Derek Devoy, who is behind it, told KCLR Live this morning that a lot of work has gone into it.
He says they will work with the new drop-in centre Teach Tom when it opens next year.
