The need for and design of new tourism signs in Kilkenny City is being called into question by locals.
Fáilte Ireland installed two large structures in the form of a circular graphic panel on top of a base, on the Parade and on Dean Street.
Councillor Malcolm Noonan says there was no need for them, considering the amount of other signs and panels there are that direct people to tourist attractions.
There has also been strong backlash online with people calling them eyesores.
Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Noonan says council members weren’t shown any plans for these.
