A man remains in Intensive Care in St Luke’s Hospital today after being assaulted in a Tullow apartment yesterday.
The 31-year-old was found unconscious on the floor of the apartment on Mill Street last night.
Gardaí believe the victim of this serious assault could have been unconscious for up to 19 hours before he was eventually found and taken to hospital.
It’s understood he had made a phonecall at about 2.20am yesterday morning and that it was shortly after this that he was assaulted.
His mother began to get worried about him after he never showed up to have lunch with her like they had arranged.
However, it was close to 10 o’clock last night before she managed to get a key holder for the Mill Street apartment – which is opposite Milano’s Takeaway – and he was found unconscious on the ground inside.
He was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny where he remains in ICU.
Gardaí are looking for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the Mill Street area to contact them on 059 9151222.
