A local TD says plans to build a hundred new social housing units in Carlow could be completed in three months.
Fine Gael’s Pat Deering says we will see the Government’s new Rebuilding Ireland plan having a fairly immediate impact on the housing crisis, locally and nationally.
The €5bn five-year plan is expected to create 47,000 social houses around the country by 2021.
It would see 25,000 new houses being built every year in the private market by 2020.
Deputy Deering says the pilot plan to build 100 new houses in Carlow will be the first visible sign locally.
