Last year six people lost their lives on our roads – up 50% on the year before – while already this year, two pedestrians have been killed.
Inspector Anthony Farrell is the newly-appointed Traffic Inspector for the region and he says they are committed to bringing down the figures this year.
He’s hoping to launch Operation Hurricane, which speaking to KCLR News, he says will work much like Operation Thor did for crime.
