Two men are still being questioned this morning after a body was found in Tullow on Tuesday morning.
They’ve had their periods of detention extended after being arrested yesterday evening.
Gardai were called to a house in the Graigowen estate on the Carlow road just after 9am yesterday morning.
In the kitchen of the rented house they found the body of a Latvian man – named locally as Gints Intembergs – and another Latvian National was rushed to St Lukes Hospital with what are described as serious injuries.
A post mortem exam was being carried out on the victims remain last night but results haven’t yet been released.
The Garda technical bureau has been carrying out extensive examinations of the scene.
Gardai are asking any residents of Graigowen or neighbouring estates Gortnahowen and Slaney View Drive or any visitors to the area between 6pm on Monday and 9am yesterday morning who might have seen anything to contact them.
