The Chairman of Carlow/Kilkenny’s Education and Training Board says he has serious concerns over the future of one of their schools if Waterford’s boundary is extended.
Councillor Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere says a lot of money has been spent on developing Abbey Community College in Ferrybank in the last number of years – which now has over 800 pupils.
The control of this school would be taken off the local ETB if the proposed changes to the Kilkenny/Waterford boundary go ahead.
Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Cleere says it is something he’s worried about.
