“Disgraceful and reckless.”
That’s how Sinn Féin’s Kathleen Funchion has described a proposal to cut maternity and gynaecological beds at St Luke’s Hospital by 15%.
The local Dáil Deputy says a concerned obstetrician at St Luke’s brought the plans to her attention.
It’s understood the proposal would see four beds allocated to take the overflow of patients from other parts of the hospital.
Deputy Funchion says it raises safety and other concerns.
