It has been such a busy time here at KCLR between Olympics and the Arts Festival. Looking back on my words I see that so much this summer has been about sport! Sorry for my absence here last week. I also had a bad tooth ache [sporadic] which turned out to be a sinus infection believe it or not! I had never heard that a sinus infection could affect a perfectly healthy tooth but it can and I’m sure nobody wants to know the details!!!
As You Like it in the Castle Yard performed by London’s Globe Theatre was wonderful. I was there on Saturday evening and apart from a couple of showers with attendent umbrella incidents we really loved it. Delight too to be joined by the male and female leads [on their way to Hollywood I would wager] at our Outside Broadcast yesterday from the Left Bank. We were also joined by Boy in the Striped Pyjamas author John Boyne [ a thoroughly nice, unassuming man], historian Diarmuid Ferriter amongst others.
Check out the highlights page for Eimear’s report on yesterday’s return to Dublin Airport of our Olympians. Listen to KCLR for news of a Kilkenny reception for Darren, Joanne, Catriona and Arthur!
