Rodgers plays down Liverpool title hopes after Sunerland win

rodgeLiverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes his side are proving their doubters wrong as they keep up their title challenge.

They’re now just one point behind leaders Chelsea after a 2-1 victory over Sunderland, Gerard and Sturrdige with the goals for the hosts while Ki scored late on for the visitors.

Manchester City are just behind them.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce says he was very surprised his players were booed off last night, despite his team moving to the brink of safety.

They beat Hull 2-1 at Upton Park, though their task was made easier by goalkeeper Allan McGregor’s sending off in the first half.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon says his team have been outstanding on their way to becoming champions of Scotland for the third season in a row.

Their 5-1 thrashing of Partick Thistle away from home wrapped up the Scottish Premiership title with seven games to spare.
