Fine Gaels Pat Deering has asked that a planning application for a wind farm in Old Leighlin in Carlow be put on hold until new regulations are in place.
Deputy Deering was speaking in the Dail this week as a Sinn Fein introduced a bill in a bid to get the balance right with regard to planning on wind turbines.
An application for 21 turbines in the Old Leighlin area is currently with the planning department of Carlow county council with an unprecedented number of submissions made by those opposing it.
