In a time of superstition and magic, a young girl by the name of Robyn Goodfellowe, a wolfhunter’s daughter who comes to Ireland with her father, but when she meets a wild girl (Mebh) she transforms into the one thing her father is tasked with destroying.
It’s all part of Wolfwalkers, the next feature film in production from Kilkenny’s Cartoon Saloon. The local animation studio is currently wrapping up production on The Breadwinner which boasts Angelina Jolie as an executive producer with a late 2017 release date on the cards.
The trailer debuted on Cartoon Brew this week and you can watch it below.
Visually, the concept trailer is very much in line with The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea and while it is a concept trailer it already looks like the studio have another magic movie on their hands.
Wolfwalkers is written by Will Collins (Song Of The Sea) and directed by Tomm Moore (Secret of Kells) and Ross Stewart.
