The governing body of Waterford Insititute of Technology’s agreed to re-enter talks with IT Carlow over a proposed merger
Discussions between the colleges broke down last year but a report by Michael Kelly published back in July found the project is still feasible and recommended that talks should re-open.
In a statement today WIT President Willie Donnelly says they remain committed to securing a University for the South East.
He told KCLR back in July when the report was published that its not something that should be rushed through though.
