A woman remains critically ill in St Lukes hospital after plunging into the River Barrow in a jeep last night.
2 passers by rescued the woman at the lower stream in Bagenalstown where the vehicle entered the water.
Ex-fireman John Doran was out for a walk with his wife at the time and was one of the first on the scene – he described to KCLR news how the jeep overturned after ploughing through the wall at the riverside.
And he explained how he and another man managed to save the woman from the water.
