Kilkenny Lions launch annual Christmas Appeal as they celebrate 50 years

As the Kilkenny Lions Club marks its 50th year, members launched their 25th annual Spirit of Christmas Appeal last night.

Kilkenny senior hurling manager Brian Cody joined Cathaoirleach of the local authority David Fitzgerald, Mayor Michael Doyle & local Lion President Brian O’Callaghan at the Tholsel to reveal details of this year’s initiative.

It will see them raise money for those in need locally through a variety of events including a children’s concert, carol singing & an auction with KCLR & the Kilkenny People newspaper.

 

And the dates for this years events are as follows..

  • The farm auction will run on air here on KCLR on November 30th & December 7th with the general auction to be held on December 5th, 6th & 7th.
  • Wine Fair at the Newpark Hotel Dec 1st
  • Christmas concert with school groups at St Canice’s Cathedral Dec 6th
  • Carols at the River Court Hotel December 9th
