A local GRA spokesman says the lateness of their decision to call off strike action last Friday is the government’s fault.

Executives within the Garda Representative Association are meeting today to plan their next steps after a new proposal was outlined in the Labour Court last Friday.

It includes measures such as an increase in rent allowance of €500 a year, and payment for their 15-minute handover period between shifts.

It’s not yet known whether the strike action that was planned for the next three Fridays will go ahead.

Speaking to KCLR News today, Carlow/Kilkenny GRA rep Ger Comerford says there are a lot of questions still to be answered.
