Work continuing to resolve gas outage in Kilkenny city

Work is continuing this morning on resolving a gas outage in Kilkenny city.

Crews from Gas Networks Ireland expect to be working on site for much of the day to address the problem which was caused by water entering the network.

Premises along Maudlin Street, Wolfe Tone St, Michael St and Lower John Street are affected, but customers are being kept informed on the situation there.

Gas Networks Ireland says it is working closely with Kilkenny county council and waterworks and says the work is slow and complex, so will take time.
