Irish ploughing champions shine in Latvia at the World Ploughing Championship

It was a great weekend for the Irish in Latvia at the World Ploughing Championship.

Famed duo Eamonn Tracey from Carlow and John Whelan from Wexford both came out as winners.

Coach Garry Ireland explains: “Local man Eamonn Tracey won the Conventional World Ploughing first yesterday and the grassland. He won the silver medal in the stubble ground the day before. Winner overall John Whelan from Wexford was first on the Friday in the stubble and second in the grassland and winner overall.”
