Fianna Fáil councillor Fintan Phelan is one step closer to a potential bid for the European Parliament elections.
The former Mayor of Carlow received the unanimous support of fellow party members in backing his bid to be added to the Fianna Fail ticket for the European elections at a meeting of the organisation last night (Friday).
Speaking to KCLR News, Cllr. Phelan explained the significance of receiving the backing of his local party members, saying “Party members the length and breadth of Co Carlow, all Fianna Fáil public representatives in our county, including our local TD Jennifer Murnane O’Connor, are supporting my bid to be added to the Fianna Fáil ticket for the upcoming European elections. I want to thank all the party members who supported me last night, and I want to thank the public representatives for their support for my bid to be added to the Fianna Fáil ticket.”
