The sons of a murdered Kilkenny woman say they’ve have been kept in the dark over her killer’s quest for parole and release from prison.
36-year-old Christine Quinn was stabbed multiple times in December 2002 at the family home at Greenfields which was then set alight – local man Mark Costigan, then aged 16 years, was found guilty and sentenced to life in prision two years later.
He was reportedly due to be released two days a week to attend a pre-release educational programme but this has since been revoked.
Jason and Ronan Quinn on The KCLR Daily said the Irish Prison service is based on rehabilitation but this can only be done if the person owns up to their crime which they say Mr Costigan never has.
